The only reason I went to South Point Kia was that Shawn
Hamze was recommended to me by my mother who had a great experience. I was very
pleased with his effort and service. He assured me I could trade my car in and
get into a new car. I drove off in my new Kia and love my car.

Some friends of ours had purchased from South Point KIA and told us about their
great experience, so we went there. Shawn Hamze greeted us within one minute of
us being there, but was not the "pushy salesman." I was very
indecisive as to the color and options I wanted, but Shawn was more than
willing to bring each car we wanted to look at to us, not us having to walk and
follow him. I told him what was important to me about buying a new car, and he
listened. He had absolutely no problem making the price work for us. The car I
purchased was not the most expensive one, and Shawn never tried to convince me
into something else. Definitely a positive experience!

Shawn Hamze just sold me a 2011 Optima and it
was the best car buying experience I've
had, period. He listened to what I was
looking for and worked to find a vehicle that matched my needs exactly. He even
brought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata over and parked it next to the Kia so I could
compare them side by side.
He was very up front with me with the price
and the financing options. He didn't try any shell games with the numbers.
There was none of the back and forth 'good cop', 'bad cop' with the sales
manager. I was pre-approved through my credit union so I was pleasantly
surprised when he was able to offer me an even better interest rate. Shawn
really did his best to get me the car I wanted at a good price.
Most of us put car buying at about the same level as a trip to the dentist. You
know
you have to do it at some point, but you can't help that feeling of dread. If
you're one of those people, do yourself a favor and talk to Shawn the next time
you are shopping for a new car.
I just purchased my 3rd vehicle from the South Point Kia guys. This is my 2nd
vehicle purchased specifically from their awesome sales professional, Shawn
Hamze. Top notch guy, and a good family man. He knows what loyalty is and is
willing to work with you. He is one of the few cars salesmen I've dealt with in
my life that I will actually seek out to make a deal with. I purchased my first
vehicle from Shawn in 2004. He worked us out the best deal possible then and
continued this high level customer experience again this past weekend. Most
salesmen like to play the back and forth game with the front office and put the
blame on the sales manager for pricing and what deals they can or can't make.
Shawn plays it straight and takes full responsibility for his actions. My wife
and I went in there thinking we were going to walk out if we couldn't find a
deal that we thought was worthwhile. We didn't NEED to purchase anything; we
were just testing the waters. We thought our asking price was way too low to
get a decent deal. So, to really put it to the test, we came in unannounced.
Shawn remembered us; we took a test drive, then sat down and worked out all the
details in a very reasonable period of time. And Shawn and the team were able
to meet our requested price (with the extended warranty coverage). Can't praise
these guys enough. Being a single income family, this is the type of place I
need...and definitely the type of car sales professional WE ALL need.

what his customer asks for; he works with a sense of urgency and is constantly

request.

After doing my research online and visiting every other dealership, we went to South Point Kia and asked for Shawn because we saw his name on the website. He took us straight to car we asked about and handed us the keys for a test drive saying since we were already Kia owners, we were family. My husband and I were able to drive the cars alone and openly discuss them. Shawn was very patient with me and answered all my questions. He knew his cars, which was a relief after spending most of the day with new sales people who didn't know the specs of the cars they were hoping to sell. We had a great experience buying both of our Kia's there. They offered us significantly more for our trades and with the loyalty rebate fully met our needs. Great job!!

After a terrible experience at Capitol Kia on 183, I was without a car for 4 days. I was really stressed about having to start the whole process over again. I took some time to read the reviews about the other Kia dealership in Austin, South Point Kia. I saw that Shawn Hamze had great reviews overall and decided to email him before wasting any time on the lot. I told him exactly what car I wanted and exactly what I wanted to pay per month for "x" amount of months. The price per month that I requested was the same price I had asked the finance guy at Capitol Kia for...at Capitol Kia the finance guy told us that he would "loose his job if he offered that price". Somehow magically, Shawn was able to offer us that price and he was able to do it without any haggling or "stepping out to talk to the manager" and he still has his job. Wow...it's a miracle. Shawn responded to my email within 30 minutes, assured me he could meet our needs and started the financing paperwork over the phone so that we wouldn't waste time at the dealership. Shawn never tried to sale me on a different car or different product. He never tried to sale me a lease instead of a finance contract. He quickly made my wishes into a reality and was very laid back the entire time we were meeting with him. He gave me a brand new car that had just been unwrapped from the factory with 4 miles on it. He had it detailed and filled it up with gas. It's a black 2011 Kia Sorrento LX and it is beautiful. While waiting for the financing guy to be freed up he took the time to walk through all of the warranty info and car info. The financing guy did not pull any tricks during our time with him. He filled out the contract exactly as Shawn had said it would be filled out which was a new experience for us. At capitol Kia the salesperson would promise things would go down one way in financing and the financing guy would come up with paperwork that was nothing like the salesperson promised so you would have to start all over again. We were so relieved when everything went easily in financing. South Point Kia was not pushy, the transaction went smoothly and they showed us how buying a new car is supposed to go. My husband and I were very happy with our entire experience at South Point Kia and specifically with Shawn Hamze as our salesperson. I highly recommend that you give Shawn a try, especially if you are walking away from a bad Capitol KIA 183 experience. I bought my first Kia (I've owned Jeeps and VWs previously) on Friday night from Shawn Hamze and I CANNOT say enough good things about the entire process and Shawn himself. I bought a 2011 Soul and I still can't get over what an incredibly cool car it is, and for such a low price. Shawn helped me find the EXACT car that I was looking for and didn't try to force me into any extra features that I didn't want. I actually live closer to Capitol Kia and tried them first. Frankly, I was repelled by their pushy attitude and inability to listen to what I wanted to buy. I gave South Point a shot and I can safely say that it was absolutely worth the drive to S.Austin. Loved the buying process, loved Shawn and loooove my new car!!

JD and the South Point Team were awesome. My wife and I used http://CarWoo.com to find a dealer from which to buy a 2011 Sorrento. South Point Kia matched the best offers we had from dealers in other cities, so we decided to go with them to save us from making a trip to Dallas, Odessa or Oklahoma. Because of the cliché horror stories that everyone knows about car dealerships, my expectations were not high. However, my preconceived notions could not have been more wrong. As soon as we arrived we were able to immediately go in and start the process. I attribute this mostly to the Car Woo process. While I thought the salesmen would try to haggle or up-sell at any moment, it never happened. Instead, he answered all of our questions and was very calm and polite. I thought that we surely would get the shaft when we went to the "finance room". Instead; it was more of the same great experience. The finance manager answered all of our questions and explained everything as thoroughly as he could. Even though we were the last people there on New Year's Eve, no one ever rushed us or tried to bulldoze us. Our salesmen even waited for us after we had finished with finance to congratulate us and ask if we had any more questions, concerns, etc. Overall, the experience could not have been better. The combination of Car Woo and the honest people at South Point Kia made our car buying experience fantastic.

Ask a first-time car buyer, Shawn at South Point Kia in Austin, TX, really made my experience great. He was honest, communicated well, and I didn't feel like I was ever being hassled. If you are looking for a Kia, go to South Point Kia and ask for Shawn. (I purchased a 2010 Kia Soul)

and within the day Shawn Hamze was able to set up a time to look at new cars.
Later
that weekend, I was in and out with my new Kia Forte before lunch! He really
worked
with me on getting my financing where I wanted it. I've never been to a car

Great experience
I had been looking at used cars but Shawn Hamze was
able to get me new Optima, the exact model and color I wanted, at a great price
with
absolutely no hassle. Can't believe how easy it was! Will definitely tell
everyone I know.
This was the easiest buying experience I have ever had. I contacted Shawn Hamze
at South Point Kia over the Internet and it was totally a NO HASSLE deal. I
submitted my credit on line and he had my new SOUL ready for me when I got
there. The whole transaction took less than an hour and I was gone. I will send
everybody I know to south Point Kia to see Shawn Hamze. I LOVE MY NEW CAR!

is great to work with. We talked several times on the phone and he kept running
out to the lot to take photos to send to me. He was exceptionally personable

I thought I had posted a review for
this dealership earlier, but I guess not. So here I go...
Originally, at the end of June I started looking around for a new car due to
the Cash for Clunkers program. The 2010 Kia Soul was at the top of my list, so
I went to Capitol Kia. Had a horrible experience there, so I decided to go to
South Point Kia in South Austin.
The difference between these two dealerships is amazing. South Point Kia, from
the get go, treated me so much better than the other dealership. Shawn Hamze,
my salesman was great and treated me like an actual person, and after I
expressed interest in getting the Soul he kept in contact with me. Finally, a
week ago I decided to get the Soul. He got me a great deal, and Eric, the
finance manager was great as well. He was very funny and made the experience
enjoyable, as strange as that sounds. He was able to get a low-interest loan
with no hassle. And, to top it off, a week after I got my Soul Shawn called me
to ask how everything was.
-I can't speak as to the service, having purchased the car this past week, but
the sales experience was the most agreeable I've ever had with a dealership.
After visiting the north side Kia dealership and getting the old "If you
buy it today here's what I can do for you . . ." spiel, we found the low
pressure atmosphere at South Point a welcome relief. Steven explained the
features and answered our questions without any hyperbole and sat quietly as we
took the car out and discussed its features. We always felt he was being honest
with us. We took a friend with us who wanted to finance her car and Kia gave
her what appears to be an excellent loan at a competitive rate of interest. We
left with two Kia Souls. Will continue to document our experience, but so far
so good!
